Varnishing
Varnish is a transparent coating material that reveals the natural beauty of wooden surfaces while protecting them against external factors. Extending the life of the wood and facilitating its maintenance, varnish adds shine, depth and richness to the surface. Especially in the maritime sector, the varnishing process is of great importance to protect the wooden parts of the yachts and to ensure their aesthetic appearance. Varnish makes the wood more resistant to moisture, sunlight, sea salt and other external factors. In this way, the wooden parts of your yacht will remain like the first day for many years. Points we pay attention to in the application.
The surface to be varnished is clean, dry and sanded. All dirt, oil and old paint residues are removed. The temperature of the application environment is set between 15-25°C. Varnish will not dry properly in very cold or hot weather. The ambient humidity is set between 40-60%. High humidity may slow down the drying of the varnish and cause blistering. To prevent dust and dirt particles from sticking to the surface, there should be no air flow during application. The environment is therefore masked. However, good ventilation is provided. Do not apply under direct sunlight. Sunlight may cause rapid drying of the varnish and stains on the surface.
